Andrew Methven

Andrew is CEO of Hampton Group in the UK, and serves as Group Vice President.

As CEO he oversees and leads the UK team, as well as being involved in and leading on major group projects – with a focus on Africa and the Middle East.

Andrew has played a key role in Hampton Group advisory work, working closely with international CEOs in China, helping them navigate challenging issues such as market entry, adapting to policy changes and building effective stakeholder engagement programs.

A fluent Mandarin speaker having taught himself over many painful years, Andrew is a member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists, and Co-Chair of the Association of Speakers of Mandarin as a Second Language. He is also a mentor for the Young China Watchers Mentoring program.

Andrew holds a BSc in Planetary Science, and an MA in Chinese Translation from SOAS. In his spare time he enjoys learning Chinese, gardening and bee keeping.
